where do i begin. i just love these guys. it may be because individually reading homestuck these 3 were some of my favs, so of course id love to see all 3 of my fav guys in one place, but it is more than that ok. theyre so fucking funny. put the 3 most over the top dramatic characters with the silliest speaking styles in one place and you have struck comedy gold. there is so many possibility for shenanigans between the 3 of them that are soo unexplored. theyre like semi popular right now? but obviously solo davekat will always overshadow anything else and its more like, people talking about how they Like davesolkat, and no one actually creating content for them... world is so sad.
I'm such a big fan of their specific dynamics with eachother that add up to the perfect trio. i think having a Third guy there brings out the absolute best of their individual dynamics. like, individually any combo of davesol, davekat or solkat includes petty arguments or silly shenanigans and now you have a Third guy to egg on those antics. since solkat go back to when they were young wrigglers, years worth of aggression and inside jokes and arguments builds and having dave there to disrupt that and force them to get more creative with their insults & help them adjust to their new circumstances.. that is sooooo perfect ok. then u have davekat who basically were alone for 3 years and got really close, having that Interrupted by sollux when they get to earth c or whatever post-canon situation you like and karkat is forced to reckon w/ these buried feelings while he also simultaneously likes dave and thats DRAMA ok! you can go so many places with that.
im also just a big fan of interspecies relationships since it forces communication (i love communication..) ESEPECIALLY in this circumstance where their home cultures are completely destroyed and the small cast of characters have to embody what they remember and cared about. having 3 characters who were ostracized in their original societies in different ways who know get to come together and air those grievances and heal, is sooooo beautiful ok. i like these 3 since they are all very defensive of their genuine feelings in different ways, and so the ways they unmask all that around eachother is so funny ok. they will have conversations of serious tone intrabursed with sidetracked tangents on something small one of them got caught on.
