Norsk

I've been learning Norwegian on & off for 7 years, but got very serious about it in the last year. Here is my documenting of my language skills!

My Study Schedule
For the first 7 months, I primarily used Duolingo. I'm an experienced language learner and knew where to supplement grammar information, so this worked fine for me. I don't recommend to use Duolingo if you don't know how to use it properly. It gave me around 1500 words, but when it stopped teaching me words I would actually use, I broke away from it. Currently, I read an NRK article everyday and jot down words I'd like to use from the article. I do writing challenges with different goals a few times a week (ie: I try to use my new vocab words, I use a new grammar concept, etc).

My Skill Level as of 4/9/2024
I currently have around 2000~ words in my vocabulary, most of which I feel I can confidently recall when asked to translate from English to Norwegian and even more which I recognize when seen in the context of Norwegian text. I can express myself pretty completely; When I don't know a word its easy for me to come up with a replacement.

Projects
Here is a list of my application of skills!

Article Vocabulary - A list of articles I've read and the words I took from them.

Writing Practice - A diary of sorts of things I've written in Norwegian. I try to just write about stuff I talk about in English, so its mostly about like, fictional characters I like lol. I love looking at old entries and noticing how Juvenile my writing felt - That first entry on Homestuck is soooooo simple to me now its insane.
