This is the best character ever created of all time
i love ythis guy so much, probably, Again, the best guy of all time to me.

Forever mad on his missed potential in the comics... true of most of the trolls, but him especially because he was sort of utilized? and then just thrown out and disappeared for nearly the rest. doom as an aspect was not very well explored, unlike for example life, who was neglected for feferi's character, but at least had some usage with jane. what does doom mean for the game? I generally wish we knew more about the trolls session, but simultaneously I am GLAD we did not have to sit through another like 2000 pages of their insane session.

This guy is just like me fr. I think his bipolarness was added as an afterthought just to fit his duality thing, but his personality is sooooooooooooo. ok. he is the epitome of teenaged bipolar, from one teenaged bipolar to another.. hes so fucking funny to me his diaologie is SO good and again!!!!!!! he has very little apperance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but his few appearances were all so good. the way he talks all snarky but with tones of interest/caring underneath is so lovely. his doom aspect also gave him such a unique view on the game, him seeing it all as inevitable and going to go bad, compared to everyone else who had dreams and aspirations about the game (even if they got tainted after getting trapped and losing) could've been so cool.

another thing i love about him is his relationships, specifically to aradia and karkat. his pesterlog with aradia makes me very emotional. i love the parallels between their characters. when aradia dies, she speaks of how peaceful it is without the voices. when sollux goes blind, he talks to karkat about how quiet his head is now that he doesn't have visions and voices anymore. i also love in this pesterlog how he deflects his anger, by saying "oh well how about you get on karkats case, hes the real angry one". thats an aspect of solluxs character that i think gets lost a lot when people talk about him, he can very angry. people characterize him as mean (jokingly or seriously), but dont really include the fact he has very real and genuine anger. him and aradias relationship is very tragic, and even more tragically unexplored!! we know vriska mind controlled him to make him kill her, but thats about it. we see nothing of it, only the aftermath, and even then, barely that.

i love how he talks to karkat as well. I think their "are we still friends" thing is so fucking funny. they're both really funny characters to read anyways, so put them together and its so fucking good. both of their characters also deflect genuine care & affection for others, but in different ways, and i think the way that affects their interactions is so nice. aradia directly says to sollux that she wishes he was happy and such, but karkat has to do it in complicated obtuse ways. i think a good example of this is when sollux accidentally explodes karkats computer, which could've been avoided, but karkat was interpreting solluxs "please don't open that file" as a competition and not actually care for him. when sollux gets knocked out and karkat drags him away, altho karkat could show care for anyone he sees needing saved, i think it displays well their specific circumstances. karkat freaks out that sollux is acting so calm, because of how out of character it is, and he keeps pestering sollux to talk to him about what happened while sollux is ignoring him to talk to terezi.

i love his cockiness about coding, its so funny to me. when he makes fun of kanaya for needing help fixing her keyboard, im like fawk this guy would HATE me. (not really because sollux does put in the care to help her even if he thinks its stupid she cant do it herself). i have the worst computer knowledge ever. ive been getting better recently, but i it is still lacking severely.
