I've been looking for a new language to learn after achieving proficiency in Norwegian, and my upcoming trip to Tanzania in 2025 gave me the idea to learn Swahili. I think it'd be incredible to be able to use my language skills in a country that speaks it.
My Study Schedule
I am using the Complete Swahili course from Language Transfer and listening to 2-3 lessons a day. I chose an audio based medium because my listening skills will need to be sharp in order to speak with people easily. I am only a week in, so don't want to overwhelm myself with information, but I will likely use the MangoLanguages Swahili course or the Nkenne program to learn more after I have a base in the language.
My Skill Level
I literally just started on April 6th, so I don't have much to show for yet. I know basic verb conjugation (adding pronouns & time markers), and around 30 words.
Projects
When I have enough of a vocabulary to read or write more complex texts in Swahili, those projects will be listed here!
