Various paint sample brands with pentel oil pastel details

This is a landmark for my art career, honestly. This piece features my fursona Sylvia, crafted together from around a hundred paint sample cut-outs. I first thought of using paint samples in my art when thinking about my relationship to poverty. I didn't have any high quality art supplies in middleschool, just random pens and markers I'd find. Paint samples, which are completely free, seemed like an awesome way to craft together a picture. I had a bunch stockpiled from years of taking them whenever I'd be at the store, and I got to work!

This creation made art profitable for me. I now take paint sample commissions, and they're the highest I've ever been able to price my art (70$ per). Everytime I post one, at least 3 people ask about getting one too, so I have a very large queue of them!! It makes me so happy to feel I've finally 'made it' perse, I have crafted my niche in the art world and I adore doing these.
